Street Trees at Vanderpool Residence on Edgemont
TM,
I have some familiarity with the physical nature of the Vanderpool site due to past involvement with
partition procedures, I hope you will accept my recommendation with regard to the street trees required
during residential building permit procedures,
In accordance with SDC 32,050(6&7) and 31,140(2)(c), I recommend acceptance of existing trees and
new trees, shrubs and other landscaping along the Edgemont right of way as suitable substitutes for street
trees, My recommendation is based upon:
1) Field inspection and code review indicate that with the driveway and intersection vision clearance
areas, required planting spacing and the slope of the front yard it would be hard to get another tree
planted in an acceptable location, 2) The applicant has made the effort to maintain on site trees through
the construction period, and
3) the applicant has provided professional landscaping designed to be consistent with the character of the
original site,
Thanx for your consideration in this matter, you may forward my recommendation to the file and please
give me a call if you need anything else,
JD
