On December 23, 2002 a representative from FordooNess-Fassbender, Inc. visited the subject
site to assess the building pad conditions WJth respect to the relative compaction of the
aggregate cover.
Site telting of the 1".0 crushed aggregate from Springfield Quarry indicates that the thickness of
aggregate is approximately 4- to &-inches over the majority of the pad. In locations where trees
and theIr roots had been removed the aggregate is up to several feet thick. Based on site
testing and probing. the aggregate has been compacted to at lealt 95% of the materials
maximum dry density of 133,5 pet as detennined by AASHTO T-99 method. The subgrade and
aggregate fill are suitable for conventional residential style perimeter footing construction. We
recommend that all footings be retnforced with at least two #4 steel reinforcing bars, and that
surface water be directed 1!tN8y from the foundations and not allowed to pond adjb~..t to
footings. We do not recommend allowing dump-trucks, concrete trucks or other heavy
eQUipment onto the building pad during wet weather,
Sincerely, .
