As you requested, an inspection was performed to determine site
conditions and the adequacy of the gravel fill placed by Wi lliams
General contracting.
At the time of the inspection, the crushed rock was in place c:.mtJ
compacted. The depth of the gravel varied from a minimum 0f
approximately 8" to a maximum of 12". The underlying soil was not
visible due to the crushed rock being in place, but based on areas
exposed at the cut banks and at a storm or sanitary sewer diteh at th~
rear of the lot which was open at the time of the inspection, 1 t
appears that the site was excavated through unsuitable soils to a
decomposed sandstone layer, which normally is classified as a non..
expansive type of soil.
with the installation of the foundation system designed by this office
and with the site as prepared by the contractor, the building site is
adequate for the proposed wood framed structure.
Very truly yours,
Emile Mortier, P.E.
