As you requested, a review of the pier design specified In the engineering dated 5/30/01 was
done The typical on sheet 5 specifies double king studs each side of the openings where pier
design was used to resist lateral loads, Upon further consideration of the specific walls analyzed
in thiS job, It was determined that a single king stud is adequate All other requirements of the
pier design detail must be met, where pier design is specified In the engineering (see sheet 2)
