RE. 620 S 6Th Street. Sorinafleld- Site/SOils/Compaction Investigation - W.O. #13788-RDR
As you requested, a site/soils investigation was performed at the above noted address on June
4,2001. Design for the site is as follows
All fill, vegetation, and unbuildable material has been removed to native grade. The native soil
IS a silty clay decomposed ash/sandstone with a Unified Solis Classification of SC-SM and a
plastlGlty index of less than 15. The expansiveness of the soil IS low (after Holtz 1959), A
maximum 4" of crushed rock should be Installed with tracked excavation equipment to protect the
proposed building site in the event of inclement weather. No extraordinary drainage or
compaction IS reqUired for treatment of expansive soils at this site.
On June 6, 2001 a compaction inspection was performed after fill placement. The compacted
surface of the 1 1/2"" minus crushed rock IS adequate for a foundation bearing capacity of 1500
psf, which IS adequate to support the proposed conventional wood frame residence. The
compaction of the gravel surface IS greater than 95% of a standard proctor per ASTM D698-91,
See attached data sheet(s).
Thank you for thiS opportunity to be of service. The enclosed Building Analysis Report and
Statement of Conditions and limitations IS a part of thiS report. If you have questions regarding
this report, please contact me at 484-9080
Sincerely,
Bradley R Myers, P.E.
