Public Works ' Ken Vogene . 736-1026 Consent Calendar ITEM TITLE: ACCEPTANCE OF PROJECT P30467; 23RD AND OLYMPIC STREET PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS. ACTION REQUESTED: Adopt or reject the following resolution: A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT PERMIT PROJECT P30467, 23RD AND OLYMPIC STREET PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS. ISSUE STATEMENT: This permit project was engineered by Branch Engineering, Inc. and constructed by VIK Construction Company. The contractor has completed work on this public improvement project. The City Council must formally accept the contractor's work on the project for the City's use, operation, maintenance, and ownership. ATTACHMENTS: A. Resolution DISCUSSION/ FINANCIAL IMPACT: This project involved the installation of public improvements consisting of 95 feet of sidewalk, a 25 foot commercial driveway apron and one street light. The developer of the project is Olympic Street Properties, LLC. All work has been inspected by Branch Engineering, Inc. and the City Engineer and found to be satisfactory. ' We do not have a final construction cost for this project, as it was privately engineered, built and financed. Acceptance WHEREAS, work on the improvement described below has been fully completed and has been duly inspected by the City Engineer of the City of Springfield: P30467, 23rd and Olympic Street Public Improvements, and WHEREAS, said work was found to be in conformance with the terms of the contract now on file in the City Recorder's office; and, WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Engineer that this improvement project be accepted and permanently included in the improvement maintenance program of the City of Springfield. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED ~s follows: 1) The Common Council of the City of Springfield does hereby accept for future maintenance the above-described proj ect and accepts said improvement from the contractor involved. 2) This resolution shall take effect upon adoption by. the Council and approval by the Mayor. Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Springfield, Oregon, this 7th day of April, 2008. Adopted by a vote of _ for and _ against.
