As you requested 1 performed site soils inspections on March 22, 2002 at the above noted location
During that inspection r made the following observations.
The site soils consist of an 8 - 12 inch layer of organic topsoil with a sub soil of clay that i~ dispersed
With large boulders The day j~ classified as a CH in accordance with the uses system. The PI of the soil
is approximated at a value greater then 35 making it have a very high degree of eXp'cUlsion (After Holtz
1959). Recommendations for the site arc as follows

The sIte needs to have an of lhe organic layer removed and place a minimum of 12 inches of crushed rock
as a base fOf the foundation The rock needs to be compacted to 95% of a standard proctor. The native
grade needs to be eut so that it slopes towards tbe natural full at the NW comer of the lot sO that no water
can sit on the sub surface

The site has been prepared in accordance with my recommendations as stated above The rock is placed to
a minimum of95% compaction based on a standard proctor. The site as prepared is adequate to support a
standard residential foundation with a design pressure of 1000 PSF soil bearing capacity. See attached
data sheet for density testing results
