I observed the placement of hold down bolts In an existing foundation for braced panels at the
sides of the garage door
5/8" threaded rod was set In 3/4" <l> holes dnlled to a depth of 10" in the eXisting 6" wide concrete
foundation wall at the above referenced site The holes were cleaned with a bristle brush and
excess debrIs blown out with dry compressed air Minimum end wall setback is 5", minimum side
setback IS ] 3/4" Foundation wall thickness IS 6"
The bolts were placed using Simpson SET high strength epoxy mixed according to the
manufacturers instructions
The Simpson manual for Wood Construction Connectors ( Catalog C-2000) states that bolts set
In this manner will have an allowable tension load of7665 Ib @ 133%
Allowable load for Simpson P AHD2 shown on approved plan IS 3610 11>
The bolts meet or exceed desIgn load reqUirements
