A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPOINTMENT OF CYNTHIA PAPPAS AS INTERIM CITY MANAGER WHEREAS, the City of Springfield desires to appoint Cynthia Pappas as interim City Manager of the City of Springfield to perform the duties of the City Manager under the conditions and provisions of the Springfield Charter until employment of the next City Manager; and WHEREAS, the City desires to provide for compensation for Cynthia Pappas during the period of this appointment as interim City Manager; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of Springfield as follows: . Section 1. That Cynthia Pappas be appointed to serve as Interim City Manager for the City of Springfield, effective December 5, 2005, to perform the duties of the City Manager under the conditions and provisions of the Springfield Charter, and to perform such other duties and functions as the City Council shall, from time to time, assign; and that the duration of this temporary appointment shall continue until such time as the next Springfield City Manager is formally employed, or until such time as the appointment is otherwise discontinued. Section 2. That during the duration of this appointment as mterim City Manager, the base monthly salary for Cynthia Pappas shall be $10,071.29, and that all other terms of her compensation and benefits shall continue as provided by City policy for the Assistant City Manager. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor.
