726.3769 (recorder), state your City designated job number, job address, type of Inspection requested and when you will be ready
for Inspection. Requests received before 7:00 B.m. will be made the same working day. requests made after 7:00 a.m. will be made
the following work day.

Lorne,
I have reviewed the proposal from Target for the garden plant area to be located in the parking area. The
test papers submitted appear to meet the requirements for a fire retardent fabric. The fact that the
material has a burn rate of 1.3 inch per minute is not a significant threat to life or property. The material
will burn, but at a slow rate that should not impact exiting from the area. There are no indications of
smoke density generated, but as this is an outside application, I do not feel this applies.
We will need to know the actual dimensions of the structure to determine requirements for exiting, fire
extinguishers, and occupant loads.
The following additional requirements must be met:
1. NO SMOKING signs shall be conspicuously posted.
2. Structure must be adequately braced to withstand the elements of weather against collapsing.
3. Structure must be located at least 10 feet from fire hydrants.
4. Structure shall not exceed a use period of 180 days within a 12 month period.
