RESOLUTIONNO 06-37
A RESOLUTION INITIATING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF
SPRINGFIELD AND REQUESTING THAT THE LANE COUNTY LOCAL GOVERNMENT
BOUNDARY COMMISSION APPROVE THE ANNEXATION BY EXPEDITED PROCESS
WHEREAS, the Common Council is authorized by ORS 199.490(2)(a)(B) to initiate annexation
upon receiving consent in writing from a majority of the electors registered in the territory proposed
to be annexed and written consent from owners of more than half the land in the territory proposed
to be annexed; and,
WHEREAS, one hundred percent of the property owners of the territory signed a consent to annex
(Exhibit 1); and,
WHEREAS, there are no registered voters within the territory and,
WHEREAS, the territory to be annexed is within the Eugene-Springfield Urban Growth Boundary
and can be provided with urban services.
NOW THEREFORE THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The Common Council of the City of Springfield does hereby recommend approval of the
expedited annexation of the subject territory to the City by the Lane County Local Government
Boundary Commission, Lane County, Oregon, said territory being described as follows:
Township 18 South, Range 2 west, Section 5, Map 12, Tax Lot 9001 more particularly
described in Exhibit 2 of this Resolution.
Section 2: The Council further requests that the Lane County Local Government Boundary
Commission approve the proposed annexation authorized by ORS 199.466 without the study,
public hearing and adoption ofa final order required by ORS 199.461.
Section 3: This Resolution shall take effect upon approval by the Council and approved by the Mayor.
ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Springfield this17th day of July 2006, by a
vote of 5 for and 0 against. (1 Absent - Fitch)

Beginning at a point on the West boundary of the A. W. Hammitt Donation Land
Claim No. 86. Township 18 South, R2tnge.2 West of the Willamette Meridian; 1242.6
feet North of the Southwest corner of said claim, running thence West 425 feet;
thence South 93.8 feet; thence West 301 feet; thence North 365.3 teet to the Southerly
boundary of the Southern Pacific Railroad Right-of-Way; thence along said Southerly
boundary 726.3 feet to the West boundary of said Donation Land Claim No. 86;
