Dear Mr. & Mrs. Ray:
At the request of the Springfield Utility Board, the Springfield Building Division
made an electrical inspection at 725 Fairview Drive on February 9, 1981. The
following defects were found:
1. A safety hazard exists where the service entrance cable passes through the
studs. This cable must have protection as provided for in Article 230-50 National
Electrical Code. A 1/16 inch steel plate over the cable where it passes through the
wood structural members is acceptable.
It is my recommendation that the non-metallic cable on the outside of the upper
plates going into the attic be notched into the upper place and covered with a
1/16 inch steel plate. Article 300-4 National Electrical Code.
Please be advised that the above mentioned violations must be corrected within
15 days (February 27, 1981) of the date of this notice. Any structure for lease,
sale or rent is required to be wired by a licensed electrical contractor and all
required permits and inspections must be obtained.
