HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 06 Acceptance of Project P30508: Lauren Estates AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY SPRINGFIELD CITY COUNCIL Meeting Date: Meeting Type: Department: Staff Contact: Staff Phone No: Estimated Time: March 17, 2008 Regular Meeting Public Works p~~ Ken V ogeney \t(. 736-1026 Consent Calendar ITEM TITLE: ACCEPTANCE OF PROJECT P30508; LAUREN ESTATES ACTION REQUESTED: Adopt or reject the following resolution: A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT PERMIT PROJECT P30508, LAUREN ESTATES ISSUE STATEMENT: This permit project was engineered by Poage Engineering and constructed by Brian Way; Way To Go Construction. The contractor has completed work on this public improvement project. The City Council must formally accept the contractor's work on the project for the City's use, operation, maintenance, and ownership. ATTACHMENTS: A. Resolution DISCUSSION/ FINANCIAL IMPACT: This project involved the installation of public improvements consisting of 340 feet of street and 20,381 square feet of dedicated right-of-way. Approximately 78 feet of 4 inch, 781 feet of6 inch and 330 feet of8 inch sewer line was installed in addition to 537 feet of 10 inch concrete storm line, 1 storm and 2 sanitary manholes. Traffic items included 1 street light and 33 feet of street end barricade. The developer of the project is Don Horton. All work has been inspected by Poage Engineering and the City Engineer and found to be satisfactory. We do not have a fInal construction cost for this project, as it was privately engineered, built and fmanced. Pursuant to the Annexation Agreement for the property, the City paid $35,112.60 to the developer for over-sizing a portion of the storm water management infrastructure. Acceptance WHEREAS, work on the improvement described below has been fully completed and has been duly inspected by the City Engineer of the City of Springfield: P30508, Lauren Estates and WHEREAS, said work was found to be in conformance with the terms of the contract now on file in the City Recorder's office; and, WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Engineer that this improvement project be accepted and permanently included in the improvement maintenance program of the City of Springfield. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows: 1) The Common Council of the City of Springfield does hereby accept for future maintenance the above-described project and accepts said improvement from the contractor involved. 2) This resolution shall take effect upon adoption by the Council and approval by the Mayor. Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Springfield, Oregon, this 17th day of March, 2008. Adopted by a vote of _ for and _ against.
