Subject: Courtesy Inspection at 187 Deadmond Ferry Road, Springfield, Oregon.
Dear Mr. Andrews:
At the request of your tenant, the Community Services Division/Building Safety conducted
an inspection at the above address. The inspection revealed items which do not meet the
minimum City Housing Code requirements and must be corrected. They consist of the
following:
Electrical
1. Circuit breakers have been installed in the service panel that are rated greater than
the rated electrical load carrying capacity of the wire they protect. The maximum
circuit breaker size in relation to the size of wire is as follows:
a) 15 AMP breaker for number 14 wire
b) 20 AMP breaker for number 12 wire
c) 30 AMP breaker for number 10 wire
2. Exposed electrical wiring located below the electrical panel shall be protected.
3.
The service mast between the weather-head and the electrical meter has a broken
fitting and must be repaired or replaced.

4.
The damaged neutral wire at the weather-head requires repair or replacement.
5. Single-pole circuit breakers used for two-pole applications must have an approved
tie-bar between the handles.

6. The defective bathroom wall heater must be repaired or replaced.
7. Inoperable baseboard heaters shall be properly repaired or replaced.
Please note that installation or repair of electrical systems on property which is intended
for lease, sale or rent must be done by an electrical contractor who is licensed by the State
of Oregon.
