This is a gridded wet sprinkler
system with an antifreeze loop
protecting the south side front
parapet (Remote Area 3: Light
Hazard: .10 gpm/sq. ft. for 150 sq.
ft.) and the north side truck loading
dock canopy (Remote Area 4:
Ordinary Hazard Class II at .20
gpm/sq. ft. with 12 flowing heads).
The mercantile area has two remote
area calculations. Remote Area 1 is
classified as an Ordinary Hazard
Class II, but using Tyco EC-25
Extended Coverage Area Density
sprinkler heads resulting in a
calculation of .425 gpm/sq. ft. over
2000 sq. ft. from 2 inch branch lines.
Remote Area 2 consists of a second
calculation with 4 EC-25 heads
calced to .50 gpm/sq. ft.
The 6 inch riser has a Tyco Model
A V-1-300, DN150 (6 inch) alarm
check valve with an associated
Model RC-1 Retard Chamber
instead of the usual manifold rIser.
The plans state commodities are
expected to be various Class I
through IV items with a storage
height not to exceed 12 feet.
Plans appear to meet code

field after verification of
redundancy of coverage area with
the ceiling mounted horn/strobes),
two 110 strobes, four 75 cd
horn/strobes, and four 15 cd strobes.

requirements.

a.m. will be made the same working day, inspections requested after 7:00 a.m. will be made the following
