PROPERTY RENTER: SUB- RENTER: SUB- RENTER WILSON, WILSON, . CHILDREN: FRANK LYNDA F. CASEY CASSANDRA FRANCHESCA TYRELL DOB 6-27-49 DOB 10-12-63 DOB 7-31-79 DOB 3-25-82 DOB 6-15-87 DOB 11-13-88 ------------------------------------------------------------- INVESTIGATED A FIRE STARTED TO A CARDBOARD BOX BY EIGHT YEAR OLD CASSANDRA WIL~ON WITH MATCHES. THE FIRE OCCURRED IN THE ATTIC SLEEPING AREA OF AN OLD GARAGE OUT-BUILDING THAT HAD BEEN PARTIALLY CONVERTED INTO AN APARTMENT. THE SOUTH END OF THE BUILDING HAD BEEN IN THE PAST REMODELED INTO AN APARTMENT. FRANK AND LYNDA WILSON, ALONG WITH THERE FOUR CHILDREN RENT A BACK ROOM OF THE GARAGE FROM HIS MOTHER FOR $125 A MONTH. LYNDA WILSON SAID THAT THEY HAVE LIVED IN THIS ROOM FOR ABOUT A YEAR. THIS ROOM AT THE NORTH END APPROX. 10'X 10' IN SIZE. YOUNGEST CHILDREN SLEEP IN THERE IS EXPOSED WIRING ON OF THE GARAGE IS UNFINISHED, THE HUSBAND & WIFE AND TWO THIS ROOM. NO SHEETROCK, & THE CEILING AND WALLS. A WOODEN 2 X 4 LADDER GOES UP THE WALL AND LEADS THROUGH A SMALL CRAWL HOLE AND INTO THE ATTIC ABOVE THE GARAGE. THE GARAGE ATTIC IS THE SLEEPING AREA FOR CASEY & CASSANDRA. . , . . THE ATTIC AREA IS UNFINISHED, EXPOSED WIRING, A LARGE OPENING WHERE A POSSIBLE WINDOW USED TO BE, THAT IS AT FLOOR LEVEL OF THE ATTIC WITH NO PROTECTION, HOLES WERE FOUND IN THE FLOOR AREA OF THE ATTIC. THE ATTIC AREA IS FULL OF BOXES, JUNK, AND GARBAGE TYPE STUFF. SOME OF THE HEALTH & SAFETY CONCERNS THAT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED ARE: 1) AMOUNT OF PEOPLE LIVING IN THIS SMALL AREA 2) UNFINISHED ROOM 3) EXPOSED WIRING 4) KIDS SLEEPING IN ATTIC WITH HOLES IN FLOOR, EXPOSED WIRING, OPEN WINDOW AREA, AND A LARGE AMOUNT OF JUNK AND COMBUSTIBLES. 5) NO SMOKE DETECTORS PRESENT IN ROOM OR ATTIC 6) INADEQUATE STAIRS LEADING TO ATTIC.
