ACTION REQUESTED: Adopt or reject the following resolution: A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT CITY PROJECT P21099; 58TH STREET PEDESTRIAN CROSSING. ISSUE STATEMENT: The work on this project has been completed by Brown Contracting, Inc., and final inspection, paperwork and approval has been completed by City Staff. The Project is now ready for City Council to formally accept the work. ATTACHMENTS: 1. Resolution DISCUSSION/ FINANCIAL IMPACT: This project included the installation of a pedestrian crossing on 58th Street and A Street to include ADA ramps, islands, striping and Rectangular Rapid Flasher Beacon assemblies. This installation was requested by and coordinated with the Springfield School District to provide an additional crossing opportunity for their students. The Council authorized a construction budget for this project of $65,000.00 of street funds. This project has been completed with the final cost of $108,042.13, which consists of $65,887.34 for the construction contract and $42,154.79 for project development, design, and administration of the construction contract. All work done under this contract has been completed and inspected by the City Engineer and found to be satisfactory. RESOLUTION NO. _______ Acceptance WHEREAS, work on the improvement described below has been fully completed and has been duly inspected by the City Engineer of the City of Springfield: P21099; 58TH STREET PEDESTRIAN CROSSING, and WHEREAS, said work was found to be in conformance with the terms of the contract now on file in the City Recorder’s office; and, WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Engineer that this improvement project be accepted and permanently included in the improvement maintenance program of the City of Springfield. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows: 1) The Common Council of the City of Springfield does hereby accept for future maintenance the above-described project and accepts said improvement from the contractor involved. 2) This resolution shall take effect upon adoption by the Council and approval by the Mayor. Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Springfield, Oregon, this 6th day of February, 2017.
