DISCUSSION/
FINANCIAL
IMPACT:
During the May 17, 2016 Primary Election, Christine Lundberg received the
majority of votes for the position of Mayor, Leonard Stoehr received the majority
of votes for the position of City Councilor Ward 4; and Joe Pishioneri received the
majority of votes for the position of City Councilor Ward 6.
Because no candidate received the majority of votes for City Councilor Ward 3
during the May 17, 2016 Primary Election, a runoff was held at the November 8,
2016 General Election. Sheri Moore received the majority of votes for the position
of City Councilor Ward 3 during the November 8, 2016 General Election.
Section 27 in the Springfield Charter states, “Before assuming his or her office,
each City officer shall take an oath or shall affirm that he or she will faithfully
perform the duties of the office and support the constitution and laws of the United
States, the State of Oregon and the City of Springfield.”
The Oath of Office will be administered to Mayor Lundberg and Councilors Moore,
Stoehr and Pishioneri during tonight’s Regular Meeting.
