ISSUE
STATEMENT:
The Richard E. Wildish Community Theater is holding its 2nd Annual Festive
Holiday Gala Concert. The Mayor and Council members are invited to attend as
representatives of the City.

IMPACT:
The Richard E. Wildish Community Theater is holding its 2nd Annual Festive
Holiday Gala Concert in downtown Springfield. The event is scheduled for Friday,
December 7 at 8:00pm and the Mayor and Council have been invited as
representatives of the City.
The City has supported the Wildish Theater project by authorizing the use of
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and Enterprise Zone funds
for the completion of the Wildish Theater. Also, the Common Council wishes to
encourage events and economic endeavors downtown as part of the City's
downtown urban renewal effort. A resolution has been attached to appoint Mayor
Sid Leiken and Councilors Ralston, Woodrow and Pishioneri as representatives to
the 2nd Annual Festive Holiday Gala Concert scheduled for December 7,2007.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORlZING CITY CUUNCIL REPRESENTATION
TO THE 2ND ANNUAL FESTIVE HOLIDAY GALA CONCERT AT THE
WILDISH THEATER IN DOWNTOWN SPRINGFIELD
ON DECEMBER 7,2007
WHEREAS, downtown economic revitalization has been a priority for the City Council
for many years;
WHEREAS, the Richard E. Wildish Theater is a key in the revitalization efforts for
downtown;
WHEREAS, the City has supported the Wildish Theater project by authorizing the use of
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, Booth Kelly funds and Room Tax funds
for the completion of the Wildish Theater.
WHEREAS, the Common Council wishes to encourage events and economic endeavors
downtown as part of the City's downtown urban renewal effort.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of
Springfield to appoint Mayor Sid Leiken and Councilors David Ralston, John Woodrow and Joe
Pishioneri as representatives to the 2nd Annual Festive Holiday Gala Concert at the Wildish
Theater in downtown Springfield scheduled for Friday, December 7,2007.
This resolution shall take affect upon adoption by the Council and approval by the Mayor.
Adopted by the Common Council and approved by the Mayor of the City of Springfield, Oregon
this day of December 2007 adopted by a vote of _ for and _ against.
