ISSUE STATEMENT: This permit project was engineered by Olson and Morris Engineers and constructed by Kipco Inc. The contractor has completed work on this public improvement project. The City Council must formally accept the contractor's work on the project for the City's use, operation, maintenance, and ownership. ATTACHMENTS: A. Resolution DISCUSSION/ FINANCIAL IMP ACT: This project involved the installation of public improvements consisting of 1,185 feet of street, 750 feet of sidewalks, 24 street trees and 6 street lights as well as approximately 137 feet of 4 inch, 388 feet of 6 inch and 1,278 feet of 8 inch PVC wastewater line in the Thurston Place Subdivision. In addition, a total of 39 feet of 10 inch PVC storm line and 840 feet of 12 inch concrete storm line was installed. This project also included 35,400 square feet of dedicated right-of-way. The developer of the project is Cummins Investments, LLC. All work has been inspected by Olson and Morris Engineers and the City Engineer and found to be satisfactory. We do not have a final construction cost for this project, as it was privately engineered, built and financed. Acceptance WHEREAS, work on the improvement described below has been fully completed and has been duly inspected by the City Engineer of the City of Springfield: Thurston Place; P30461 , and WHEREAS, said work was found to be in conformance with the terms of the contract now on file in the City Recorder's office; and, WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Engineer that this improvement project be accepted and permanently included in the improvement maintenance program of the City of Springfield. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows: 1) The Common Council of the City of Springfield does hereby accept for future maintenance the above-described project and accepts said improvement from the .contractor involved. 2) This resolution shall take effect upon adoption by the Council and approval by the Mayor. Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Springfield, Oregon, this 3rd day of December, 2007. Adopted by a vote of _ for and _ against.
