Deficiences and Corrective Action Necessary
ELECTRICAL
Electrical deficiencies were noted but may not be limited to the following:
1. It is recommended that an inspection be made by a licensed electrician to check
the demand load on the existing service entrance donductors.
2. Insufficient duplex outlets in every room with evidence of many extension cords~
install additional receptacles.
3. NO ground fault 1nterrupterin the bathroom~ install GFI receptacle to Code
.requirements.
4. A receptacle in the living room is without a cover plate~ install safety'plate
5. Overheadligh fixtures are controlled with pull chains; remove chains and install
switching at walls.
PLUMBING
1. The faucets leak at the kitchen sink, the bathroom lavatory, and the outside faucets~
repair or replace valves as needed.
2. There are no shut-off valves below the kitchen sink; install on/Off valves to Code
specifications.
, 3. The drainage is sluggish from the bathroom lavatory; replace/replace as needed to
assure good drainage.
FIRE/SAFETY
1. The smoke detector is located in 'the bedroom; a detector shall be located in an area
adjacent to sleeping rooms as required by Code Standards.

WALLS/CEI~rNGS/FLOORS
1. .There is water damage and mildew at walls of the South bedroom; remove damaged
materials, install new sheetrock, tape, texture and paint.
2. There is damage at walls of the North bedroom; remove damaged material; install
new and finish to match existing.
3. There is 'damage at the floor surrounding the water closet; remove all damaged
wood materials; replace with new as needed, install new floor co~ering.
WINDOWS AND DOORS
1. The exterior exit from the utility room lacks a door; install a solid core door'
with a screen and lockset.
2. The double-hung windows in ,the house are inoperable, the weights are broken,
locks are missing, and the glass is single glaze; remove existing windows
'and install new double pane windows,with screens and locks.
EXTERIOR
L The overhangs at windows on the West and South side of the house are deteriorated,
remove.
2. The paint is blistered and peeling. The siding is in need of repair; repair
or replace siding as needed a~d paint.
3. There is no handrail at the front steps; install a handrail.
4. The downspouts are disconnected; re-install existing and replace as needed;
fnstall drainage to street as required by the City of Springfield.
