OREGON 97477 DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS March 24, 1977 346 MAIN STREET 747-4221 Mrs. Betty Rose 832 Centennial Blvd. Springfield, OR 97477 Dear Mrs. Rose: At your request the Building Department of the City of Springfield made an inspection on March 23, 1977, of the structure located at 1300 North 28th Str~et, Springfield, Oregon. You stated that only the kitchen area of this building was to be used, therefore, the inspection was limited to the area designated as the kitchen, said area being approximately fifteen feet six inches by fourteen feet six inches with an attached porch of approximately five feet by six feet. This building is classified as an F-2 occupancy in Fire Zone III. The follow- ing items are required to comply with the Uniform Building Code: 1. Water closet rooms in connection with food establishments where food is prepared, stored, or served, shall have a nonabsorbent interior finish on floors, walls, and ceiling and shall have hand washing facilities therein or adjacent thereto. 2. All water closet rooms shall be provided with an exterior window at least three square feet in area, or by mechanical ventilation capable of providing a complete air change every 15 minutes, and the discharge shall be at least five feet from any openable window. 3. An unobstructed space of at least 32 inches shall be provided in front of the toilet. 4. The wall that seperates this portion of the building from the rest of the building shall be a l-hour firewall with no openings. This will require 5/8" type-X sheetrock on both sides of this wall placed on studs spaced 16" on center. 5. Steps shall be provided at the entrance with a rise not exceeding 7~ inches and a run not less than 10 inches. All risers and steps shall be equal. 6. The broken hub on the weatherproof electrical panel must be replaced. , . , . Mrs. Betty Rose March 24, 1977 Page 2 7. Electrical service must be grounded to cold water pipe. 8. Loom wire in bathroom must be protected. 9. The switch on the deep fryer must have a cover. 10. All breakers under 30 amp must be in the lower section of the panel with a main breaker ahead of them. All necessary permits must be obtained before work begins and all work shall be accomplished according to applicable codes and inspected before a Certificate of Compliance will be issued. Compliance with all items listed by the Building Department. 2. Approved landing at entrance. See uniform building code for minimum standard. 3. Do either of the following: A. Remove existing fry grill or- B. Install approved venting system over grill. 4. Display approval of compliance from State Health Department. 5. If natural gas is to be used,' all equipment shall be installed in accordance with National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI 2223.1 and approved. 6. Install approved 511 A.B.C. Type Fire Extinguisher. 7.
