I inspected construction site on SeptembEr 5, 1990 Lot sloped about 10 degrees from left front to right rear with 3 feet break of slope in vicinity of right rear and within con~ structlon H}'ea. 1. RiGht rear pad/fiJ.:l constructed as follows: a. Top soil removed to fractured basalt bedrock. b. Up to 1.5 feet of bar run placed and compacted in 6 inch lifts. c. 0.5 feet of li minus crushed rock placed and compacted to footing grade. d. Foundation set-back from top edge of pad to be 3.0 feet~ e. Large basalt bbulders up to 2.0 ft. in di~meter excavated from site placed on face of slopB (up to 5.0,feet high) as riprap buttress. 2. Balance of construction area: a. Step-graded from garage to residence area exposing hard,! fractured basalt bedrock in silty matrix. b. II inch minus crushed rock to,p dressing plac.ed and com- pacted to footing grade. 3. Consider pad/fill as constr'ucted and balance of foundation area will provide stable base for pro~d residence.
