RE: Aggregate Compaction Evaluation
Lot 61- Ambleside Subdivision
33nl Street
5pringfield. Oregon
On November 17, 2002 a representative from Ford-Ness-Fassbender, Inc. visited the subject
site to assess the building pad conditions with respect to the relative compaction of the
aggregate cover.
Site testing of the %"-0 crushed aggregate from Springfield Quarry indicates that the tnlcknass
of aggregate is approXimately 5-inches across the site. The aggregate has been compacted to
at least 95% of the materials maximum dry density of 133.5 pd as deten'niri.i;K'f ff{AASHTO T-99
method- The subgrade and aggregate fill are suitable for conventional residef.,tla,I style
~. perimeter footing construction. We recommend that all footIngs be reinforc-edwith at least two
#4 steel reinforcing bars, and that surface water be directed away from the foundations and not.
. allowed to pond adjacent to footings. We do not recommend allowing dump-trucks, concrete
. trucks or other heavy equipment onto the building pad during wet weather.
