DISCUSSION/ FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The 17th Street S to T Storm Connection project was identified in the adopted Capital Improvement Program to relieve localized flooding. A portion of 17th Street is currently an unimproved asphalt mat street with stormwater runoff
collected in a roadside ditch. This project connected the roadside ditch system to the piped stormwater conveyance system near the T and 17th Street intersection.
Construction of the project included the following:
• Installation of approximately 495' of new storm sewer pipe.
• Installation of 3 new stormwater sewer manholes.
• Installation of 1 new stormwater catch basin.
• Trench surface restoration.
Stormwater Sewer Capital funds collected through user fees provided funding for this project. The project was completed utilizing a portion of the funds budgeted
annually in the Storm Sewer Repair account (850014). The total cost for
completion was $100,532.58, with $83,734.54 for construction costs and $16,798.04 for design and construction management costs.
