99-41
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF LANE COUNTY
SURRENDER A PORTION OF SOUTH 57TH STREET IN SPRINGFIELD, OREGON.

WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Springfield has determined that it is in the
public interest to seek surrender from the Board of Commissioners of Lane County of a portion of
South 57th Street as described and set forth in the document attached to the resolution, and '
WHEREAS, in the event such a surrender occurs, the City of Springfield assumes all right
and title to said street in existing condition and assumes all maintenance responsibility.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Springfield as follows:
1. The Board of Commissioners of Lane Oounty are hereby requested to surrender to the
City of Springfield that portion of South 57th Street described and set forth in the document attached
to this resolution, anp
2. City of Springfield staff personnel are hereby directed to provide lane County with all
information and documentation requested in order to support this Resolution to the Board of
Commissioners of Lane County.
Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Springfield this 21st day of June, 1999.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION OF JURISDICTIONAL SURRENDER
A PORTION OF SOUTH 57TH STREET
Beginning at a point on the West line of the Stephen Gager Donation Land Claim No. 45, Township
17 South, Range 2 West of the Willamette Meridian, 1260.0 feet North of the Southwest corner of
said Donation Land Claim No. 45, thence West a distance of 30.0 feet, more or less, to the
Westerly right-of-way line of South 57th Street; thence North along said Westerly right-of-way line
a distance of 144.00 feet to a point 5.0 feet Easterly of the Southeast corner of Royal Ridge
Subdivision as platted and recorded on File 73, Slides 225 and 226, Lane County Oregon Plat
Records; thence East a distance of 50.0 feet; thence North 176.00 feet; thence East 10.0 feet,
more or less, to the Easterly right-of-way line of South 57th Street; thence South along said
Easterly right-of-way line a distance of 320.0 feet; thence West 30.0 feet, more or less, to the point
of beginning in Springfield, Lane County, Oregon.
