(Special)
AN ORDINANCE RENAMING PARK A VENUE IN THE AMENDED PLAT OF
WILLAMETTE HEIGHTS, TO PERRY STREET, AS PLATTED AND RECORDED
IN BOOK 4, PAGE 78, PLAT RECORDS OF LANE COUNTY, OREGON, IN
TOWNSHIP 18 SOUTH, RANGE 3 WEST OF THE WILLAMETTE MERIDIAN, THE
RENAMED PORTION BEING MORE COMPLETELY DESCRIBED IN SECTION 2
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Springfield has declared its intention to
rename Park Avenue from South G Street north to Valley View Avenue within
Willamette Heights Subdivision, to Perry Street as attached; and
WHEREAS, such renaming of said street is in the best interest of the City in carrying out
its plans and programs for the general development of the City; and
WHEREAS, lawful notice of the street renaming was published and mailed; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Springfield met in Council Chambers,
at 225 Fifth Street, on Monday, June 5, 2000, for a first reading and Monday June 19,
2000 for a second reading at the hour of7:00 p.m., and to hear any objections to the
proposed street renaming and 0 persons appeared to object; and
. ' WHEREAS, The Council finds that legal notice of the hearing was lawfully published
and mailed to all properties and property owners within 100 feet of the request; that
o objections were made at the street renaming public hearing; that public interest
will not be impaired by the street renaming; and that said street renaming will be to the
best interest of the public and increase the benefit of the property involved.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1:
Avenue:
The following described street to be renamed Perry Street from Park
BEGINNING AT A POINT OF INTERSECTION WITH THE SOUTHERLY RIGHT
OF WAY OF SOUTH 'G' STREET WITH PARK AVENUE, THENCE SOUTHERLY
.AND EASTERLY ALONG PARK AVENUE, BETWEEN BLOCK 'C', BLOCK 15
AND BLOCK 9, TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH V ALLEY VIEW AVENUE, ALL IN
THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD, LANE COUNTY, OREGON, AND AS SEEN IN
EXHIBIT A. -- - _n_

Section 2: The City Recorder is directed to file certified copies of this ordinance with
the Lane County Clerk, Lane County Assessor, and Lane County Surveyor.
ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Springfield this 19th day of June,
2000, by vote of 6 for and ~ against.
APPROVED by the mayor of the City of Springfield this 19th day of June 2000.
