HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 06 Acceptance of City Project P21067; 10th and N Sewer Upgrade - Phase 2 AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY Meeting Date: 3/16/2015 Meeting Type: Regular Meeting Staff Contact/Dept.: Kyle Greene/DPW Jeff Paschall/DPW Staff Phone No: (541)726-5750 (541)726-1674 Estimated Time: Consent Calendar S P R I N G F I E L D C I T Y C O U N C I L Council Goals: Maintain and Improve Infrastructure and Facilities ITEM TITLE: ACCEPTANCE OF CITY PROJECT P21067; 10TH AND N SEWER UPGRADE – PHASE 2 ACTION REQUESTED: Adopt or reject the following resolution: A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT CITY PROJECT P21067; 10TH AND N SEWER UPGRADE – PHASE 2 ISSUE STATEMENT: The work on this project has been completed by H & J Construction, Inc. and final inspection, paperwork, and approval has been completed by City Staff. The Project is now ready for City Council to formally accept the work. ATTACHMENTS: 1. Resolution DISCUSSION/ FINANCIAL IMPACT: The project included the following: • Installation of 3,266 linear feet of sanitary sewer mains • Installation of 28 new sanitary sewer manholes • Installation of 3 Multi-use paths • Surface restoration in streets and private property The 2009 wastewater bond provided funding for this project in account 409-62252- 850225. The total cost to complete the project was $1,244,375.94, with $1,074,678.10 in construction costs, $165,716.59 in staff time to design, administer, and inspect the project, $1,019.00 in advertising, and $2,962.25 in other fees (e.g., Printing Costs). The City budgeted just over $4.8 million for the both phases of the 10th & N Sewer upgrade, with the final cost to complete both phases coming in at just over $4.6 million. All work done under this contract has been completed and inspected by the City Engineer and found to be satisfactory. RESOLUTION NO. _______ Acceptance WHEREAS, work on the improvement described below has been fully completed and has been duly inspected by the City Engineer of the City of Springfield: P21036, 10th and N Sewer Upgrade – Phase 2 WHEREAS, said work was found to be in conformance with the terms of the contract now on file in the City Recorder’s office; and, WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Engineer that this improvement project be accepted and permanently included in the improvement maintenance program of the City of Springfield. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows: 1) The Common Council of the City of Springfield does hereby accept for future maintenance the above-described project and accepts said improvement from the contractor involved. 2) This resolution shall take effect upon adoption by the Council and approval by the Mayor. Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Springfield, Oregon, this 16th day of March, 2015.
