HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 5907 02/01/1999 .,. .' 99010967 ORDINANCE NO. 5907 .:, (SPECIAL) AN ORDINANCE RENAMING THAT PORTION OF SOUTH 39TH STREET NORTH OF JASPER ROAD TO THE NORTHERLY BOUNDARY OF JASPER PARK SUBDIVISION, THE 50.0 FOOT AND 60.0 FOOT WIDE STREET RUNNING NORTHERL Y FROM JASPER ROAD 788 FEET MORE OR LESS TO THE NORTHERL Y BOUNDARY OF AND LYING WITHIN THE SUBDIVISION OF JASPER PARK AS PLATTED AND RECORDED IN FILE 75, SLIDES 665, 666, 667, \\) AND 668, LANE COUNTY OREGON PLAT RECORDS IN LANE COUNTY, OREGON, ALL IN TOWNSHIP 18 SOUTH, RANGE 02 WEST, SECTION 6, MAP 11 AND 14, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Springfield City Council has declared its intention to rename a portion of South 39th Street from Jasper Road north to the northerly boundary of Jasper Park Subdivision as attached; and WHEREAS, such renaming of said street is in the best interest of the City in carrying out its plans and programs for the general development of the City; and WHEREAS, such renaming will enable the City to continue to use sequential 3900 numbers, eliminating the need to change existing addresses, and . WHEREAS, lawful notice of the street renaming was published and mailed; and WHEREAS, the Springfield City Council met in Council Chambers, at 225 Fifth Street, on Monday, February 1, 1999, for a first reading and second reading at the hour of7:00 p.m., and to hear any objections to the proposed street renaming and 0 persons appeared to object; and NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: The Council finds that legal notice of the hearing was lawfully published and mailed to all properties and property owners within 100 feet of the request; that o objections were made at the street renaming hearing held; that public interest will not be impaired by the street renaming; and that said street renaming will be to the best interest of the public and increase the benefit of the property involved. Section 2: The following described street to be renamed: . Section 3: It is hereby found and declared that matters pertaining to the renaming of this street are matters affecting the public health, safety and welfare of the City of Springfield and that an emergency therefore exists, and that this ordinance shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon its passage by the council and approval by the Mayor. Section 4: The City Recorder is directed to file certified copies ofthis ordinance with the Lane County Clerk, Lane County Assessor, and Lane County Surveyor. ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Springfield this 1st day of February 1999, by vote of 6 for and ~ against.
