Personnel data, promotions, transfers: Hire Date: December 5, 1994 (Public Works Department), Clerk 3 Hire Date: November 13, 2000 (Fire Department), Clerk 3 Re-class Date: March 27, 2006, Program Technician Career Highlights and Significant Accomplishments: • Provided administrative support for Public Works Maintenance Division 1994-2000 • Provided administrative support for Fire Training and Operation Divisions 2000-2011 • Currently provides administrative and finance support for Fire Administration. in Accounts Payable processing, Ambulance Account Services and FireMed • Provides support to the electronic Patient Care Report system by identifying problems and providing follow up on missing, late, or incorrect PCRs. • In the Training Division she o maintained the Training Division website o Assisted in development and maintenance of pre-fire plans o Worked as an aid at major emergency Operations incidents • Has volunteered for on-duty and off-duty events (i.e. public safety events, Toys-for-Tots and Fill-the-Boot) • Currently volunteers for Habitat for Humanity • Volunteers in other communities (Iditarod in Alaska and beach/harbor cleanup in Tonga) 2. How has the Department changed over the employee’s career? • Working in the Training Division, Liz saw a major shift from a paper-based records system, to electronic record keeping, web-based training and electronic patient care reports. • Liz transferred from the Training Division to Fire Admin when her position was eliminated in the many recent years of budget cuts in the department. Always quick to adapt, Liz tackled accounts payable, and other financial processes necessary to run the department. • A new Chief, a merged department and other big challenges have faced the department in recent years. Liz has easily adjusted to the changing landscape of the department and is a valuable contributor to the Administration team. 3. How has the employee grown in their position and their career? • Liz is always willing to tackle any new challenge. A lot of change has happened in the past 4-5 years, and Liz has been ready, willing and able to adjust to whatever task the team needs done. • Her language and computer skills, as well as her persistence, have served her well. • Liz got certified as an ICC Fire Code Inspector on her own time and cost. She volunteered with the Lane Co. State Fire Marshal to learn from her on my days off. 4. What positive comments do his/her co-workers have to share about the employee? • Makes an effort to maintain good co-worker relations with open communication, shows concern and offers assistance when possible. • Liz is really a can-do type of person. Give her a task and she will get the job done! • Liz worked in Training for many years and has a great relationship with the fire Operations personnel…..this is invaluable when it comes to getting their help to get things done. 5. Other • Liz loves to travel and has gone to Alaska, Florida, the Middle East, Paris, Tonga, Costa Rica, and is heading to Ireland in March.
