Proposed Use: Welding Fabrication Dear Mr. Hyland, At your request, the Community Services Division/Building Safety conducted an inspection of the building at thc above address. The purpose of the inspection was to determine the suitability of the building for the proposed use as indicated, Based on the proposed occupancy, the existing conditions which are mcntioned below do not meet the minimum Building Safety Code requirements, Corrective measures must be taken prior to occupancy to install, replace or modify the following items in order for the building to conform to applicable safety codes: STRlJC:T1JRAI. o Exterior walls less than five feet from the property line shall meet one hour fire resistive construction standards, The portion of the east exterior wall that lies within the five foot setback, shall meet one hour fire resistive construction standards. o Onc 2A-IO LB fire extinguisher is required for every 3000 square foot of floor area, Fire extinguishers should be wall mounted 4 feet above the floor. Please coordinate location with the City Fire Marshal. o The State of Oregon requires that twenty five percent of the project cost shall be designated to the removal of architectural barriers. In choosing which accessible elements to provide, priority shall be given to those elements that will provide the greatest access. Elements shall be provided in the following order: 1. Parking 2. An accessible entrance 3. An accessible route to the altered area ..~-' ,. . . 4. At least one accessible restroom for each sex or a single unisex restroom 5. Accessiblc telephones 6. Accessible drinking fountains 7. When possible, additional accessible elements such as storage and alarms . Please submit a report, prepared by a licensed engineer, that demonstrates the structure is in compliance with seismic zone three requirements. . Natural ventilation shall be supplied through exterior openings that are cqual to 1/20 of the floor area. All mechanical ventilation shall be designed by a licensed mechanical engineer.
