Dear Mr. Posey:
In r~sponse to a renter request call an inspection of the electrical wlr1ng and equip-
ment was made at 1080 North "A" Street, Springfield, Oregon. The following listed
defects were noted and due to possible shock and fire hazards which could occur, it
will be required that corrections be made within 15 days of notice.
Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR) 22-110 states that electrical work shall be performed
by an electrical contractor on properties for rent, sale or lease. The electrical con-
tractor shall attach a label at the job site and call for inspection when defects have
been corrected.
1) Kitchen ceiling light to be wall switch controlled. Oregon State Electrical
Specialty Code (O.S.E,S.C.) Section 210-70 (a)
2) Replace or repair defective porcelain lampholders in the front porch, north up-
stairs bedroom, closet in the downstairs bedroom, over the kitchen sink and the
stairway. O.S.E.S.C., Section 110-3 (a)
3) Lighting fixture over the bathroom sink to be wired and grounded in accordance
with Code standards. O,S.E.S.C., Section 110-8
4) Pull chain fixtures in grounded area shall have insulators installed in the
chains close to the fixture. O.S.E.S.C., Section 250-42
5) Install flex conduit on the exposed cable to the water heater. A splice box
will be required at the cable spli<:>e. At this time, the electrical contractor
will check the existing cable capacity with the replacement water heater demand.
If the old cable is inadequate a #10 with ground cable shall be installed.

6) Non-~etallic cable installed for the dryer outlet is not approved for areas
exposed to weather and physical damage. Install in conduit or within the
framing of the house. O.S.E.S.C., Section 336-6 (b)
7) Properly install a recessed range receptacle in the existing outlet box. O.S.E.S.C.
