RESOLUTION NO. 01- 14 A RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING THE RECEIPT OF THE WET WEATHER FLOW MANAGEMENT PLAN FROM THE METROPOLITAN WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT COMMISSION WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Wastewater Management Commission has completed the Wet Weather Flow Management Plan, and forwarded the plan to the Mayor and City Council. WHEREAS, the Wet Weather Flow Management Plan identifies policies, capital improvements, and operations and maintenance activities that will reduce extraneous wet weather flows (infiltration and inflow) in the regional and local wastewater systems in the Eugene/Springfield metropolitan area. WHEREAS, the City of Springfield acknowledges this partnership of regional and local wastewater agencies in order to protect public health, property and the environment by minimizing and/or managing wastewater overflows and bypasses following extreme storm events. WHEREAS, the matter of reducing wastewater overflows in wastewater collection systems is a matter of interest nationwide and the subj ect of proposed federal regulations. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Springfield, a Municipal Corporation of the State of Oregon, as follows: . Section 1. That the Council hereby acknowledges receipt of the Wet Weather Flow Management Plan, dated September 2000, as transmitted by the Metropolitan Wastewater Management Commission in a letter dated, February 16,2001. Section 2. That the City Council expresses great appreciation to the Metropolitan Wastewater Management Commission and the Wet Weather Flow Management Plan Citizens Advisory Committee for its work. Section 3. That the City Council hereby reconfirms its commitment to provide an ongoing wastewater rehabilitation program through the Operating and Capital Improvement Program Budgets. Section 4. That the City Council is committed to monitoring performance of the wastewater system and evaluating the need for further improvements in public or private systems necessary to achieve the protection of the public health, property and the environment.
