RESOLUTION NO. 00-30 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE EUGENE-SPRINGFIELD CONSOLIDATED PLAN FOR HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FOR SUBMISSION TO THE FEDERAL DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT. WHEREAS the Cities of Eugene and Springfield formed a consortium in order to be eligible as an entitlement community to receive HOME Investment Parthership funds. WHEREAS, preparation of a Consolidated Plan for Housing and community Development is a federal requirement in order for local entitlement jurisdictions to receive housing and community development block grant funding. WHEREAS, the Cities of Eugene and Springfield haye, as a joint effort, prepared the Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development in order to meet that federal requirement, a copy of which is attached as exhibit A and incorporated by reference. WHEREAS, the thirty day comment period for the purpose of receiYing public comment on the draft Consolidated Plan began on March 10,2000 and ended on April 8. 2000. During that period, on April 11 , 2000 a Public Hearing was conducted and public testimony was received on the draft Consolidated Plan. WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and considered the draft Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development and conducted a public hearing thereon on May1, 2000. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD; AS FOLLOWS: After review of the Consolidated Plan and the information presented at the hearing and based on the above findings, which are adopted herein, the Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development attached as Exhibit A hereto, is hereby approved. ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Springfield by a vote of 6 in favor and 0 opposed this 1st day of MAY ,2000. ~7U-. W~ Maureen M. Weathers, Mayor.
