The south side Dfthe building was designated as the A side. Flame and smoke were visible from the A side of the structure coming from the bedroom window. The resident was standing on the north side of fence that ran between the house and apartment that was the B side exposure, He started tD explain the fire origin saying someDne had thrown a bDttle of gas in to his bedroom when I referred him to BC Burwell who was standing nearby, We stretched 150 fl pre-connect and proceeded with fire attack. We completed primary search and fire knockdown on the first floor. We then assisted with mop up on the first and second floors, We were then rotated to rehab, When overhaul was completed we rechecked the structure fDr any further hot SpDtS, Then house was then turned over tD investigators from the FMO. 803- A full alarm assignment was dispatched at 1935 hours tD the house behind 8th and Main Street. #803 arrived third immediately behind #831 and #839. I gave a size up of a two story wood frame house with fire showing on the ground floor. #831 was making a fast attack and I ordered #841 tD lay a 2 11, line from the hydrant to #831 and then pack up and be the RIT crew, I assigned #839 to be the search crew and work with #831 inside, I assigned #824 crew tD pull a second preconnect to the front door and backup the attack crew, During my walk around the structure I only saw fire from the room on the Southwest - NB corner Df the hDuse, but it appeared to be eldending into other rooms. Both windows were vented at my arrival and flames were showing, During this time Captain Kronser advised me that a civilian was neld to the house in a narrow space on the west side of the building. I leaned over the fence and advised the person to get away from the building. It appeared that he was trying to eldinguish the fire and I later found a garden hDse in that area, but did not see him spraying water. The person was a middle age male with a bald head approximately 22Dlbs and 5'8" tall wearing a white shirt, He lefl the area when I advised him to leave and I didn't see him again until after the fire, When #854 arrived I assigned them to check for exposures and hazards around the building, I called for PIO, SUB and a Fire InspectDr to respond. It appear that the attack crew had the fire under contrDI and they advised a primary search was completed on the ground floor. I assigned them and #824 to check the upstairs as SDon as possible and complete a search on the entire structure. When the first two crews were low on air we rotated them tD rehab and had #841 and #854 overhaul the building. No equipment was damaged and no firefighter were injured, Dana Burwell Battalion Chief B Shift January 16, 2005 824 was dispatched tD 808 Main StreetfDr a hDuse fire. 831, 8D3, 841 arrived prior to arrival. UpDn arrival, 803 instructed us to pack up and man the backup line for 831, Firefighter Frost, Gray and I entered the structure and assisted 831 with knockdown and primary search Df the first floor and finding access to second floDr. Gray and Frost made access intD the attic and encountered a lot of heat and a small amDunt Df fire in both knee walls and under the couch which was easily extinguished, They opened a windDw and I positioned the fan at the foot of the stairs to remove the smoke. We were sent tD rehab after exiting the building, After rehab we assisted with overhaul, restored our equipment and left the scene, 841 arrived and staged at the hydrant 803 gave us an order for a 2 y,' supply line which we laid to 831. We then were assigned as RIT. After the fire was knocked down we then went intD the structure to mop up the spot fires. We then helped load hose and went to station three for air. Captain Jerry Hall Engineer Mark Allen Firefighter Scott Archer 854- On the evening of January 16, 2005 @ 1935 hrs 854 was dispatched along with a full first assignment to 808 'main St for a structure fire. 854 was third in and on our arrival 803 asked us to dD a walk around and repDrt smDke conditions. When we had circled the structure I reported light smoke coming from the east side of the structures second story window and front door. 803 then ordered us to do overhaul when 824's crew came DUt, which we did until our air alarms sounded and we left the structure, After filling our bDttles we continued with overhaul of the downstairs, upon completiDn Df this task we began tD pick up our equipment and restore 831.
