Re: Engineered fill inspection, 7486 B St., Springfield, OR
Date of inspection: May 23, 2014
Time: 10:30 am
Weather: Clear, 75°
Dear Mike:
I visited the site referenced above on the date shown. The site is located on a flat lot at the east end
of B St.. All organic material was removed from the site to a depth of 12 to 18 inches prior to
beginning placement of fill material.
1" minus crushed aggregate was reportedly placed in four to six inch lifts and compacted at each
lift with a vibratory roller. Eight inches of fill was placed on the majority of the site with 14 to 16
inches placed at the northeast corner of the site.
The fill was tested using the Sand Cone Method. Based on the test, conducted at the northeast
corner of the fill material, the fill has been compacted to a minimum 95% of the standard proctor.
The scope of service for this work was limited by the Client to assessment of compaction of the
rock fill placed at the site. No assessment of expansive soils or soil bearing strength was requested
and none was performed.
This work was performed using methods of currently accepted practice by other professionals in
this area with similar experience on projects of similar scope and complexity at the time of service.
This report offers a professional opinion and no warranties, either expressed or implied are offered
by Geomax, Inc. Geomax was retained to perform a specific task and is not the engineer of record.
Sincerely, I hereby certify that this work was
Geomax, Inc performed by me or under my direct
supervision.
