HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 6321 06/16/2014NO. 6321 (GENERAL) AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SPRINGFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE SECTIONS 2.568(2)(c), 4.418(4), 5.604(1)(e) and 7.352(7)(c) TO ALIGN WITH THE CURRENT FIRE CODE LANGUAGE ADOPTED BY THE CITY The City Council of the City of Springfield finds that: WHEREAS, the International Conference of Building Officials (ICBO) changed the name of their organization to the International Code Council (ICC). WHEREAS, the ICC is a group that promulgates model ordinances for building and regulatory industry. WHEREAS, the Fire Code is no longer referred to as the "uniform fire code ". WHEREAS, this is an action to remove the word "uniform" from the applicable sections of the Municipal Code that reference the Fire Code. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD DOES ORDAIN, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The word "uniform" is deleted from the following sections of the Springfield Municipal Code: 2.568(2)(c), 4.418(4), 5.604(1)(e), and 7.352(7)(c). Section 2: Effective Date of Ordinance. This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days after its adoption by the Council and approval by the Mayor. ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Springfield this 16 day of JUNE 2014, by a vote of 6 for and 0 against.
