Staff have visually inspected the property at this address and determined there is a reason to believe a violation is occurring. Rather than issuing a citation or taking immediate legal action,it is the City's standard practice to provide you with an opportunity to correct the violation before any penalties are incurred. SPECIFIC VIOLATION: • Section 301 Permits of the Springfield Building Safety Codes. A carport has been installed without obtaining the required building permit. • Section 5.002(11)of the Springfield City Code—parking in the front yard on either side of the approved driveway which are prohibited parking areas. 11, • 1- . ,s 'f. a i. • offmr photos are examples,not necessarily inclusive of all violations at a site REQUIRED CORRECTION: • Submit for and obtain a permit or remove the carport structure. Contact Planning staff to discuss allowable locations and required setbacks;contact building staff at 541-726-3753 between 8am-noon and 1-3pm;Monday-Friday to obtain building permit information. • Cease all parking in the front yard on both sides of the approved driveway. Contact Transportation staff at 541-726-3753 between 8am- noon and 1-3pm;Monday-Friday to obtain permit information to pursue an Overwidth Driveway Permit and curb cut that would increase the size of a driveway to allow parking. In order to avoid actions being taken against you or your property we encourage you to proceed before the deadline for compliance identified below. In the event that you have not taken corrective action by the assigned time deadline,a civil infraction citation will be issued to the resident and/or property owner requesting you to appear in Municipal Court. A finding by the court that Civil Infraction has occurred can result in a fine of as much as$500.00 for the first offense or up to$1,000.00 for a second or subsequent offense. The Code provides that each day a violation continues constitutes a separate offense so penalties can increase rapidly if a violation is not corrected. DEADLINE FOR COMPLIANCE: Seven(7)days from the date of this notice to remove the RV from the prohibited parking area and cease parking in prohibited parking areas. Thirty(30)days from the date of this notice to obtain a permit(if allowable)or remove the carport. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
