ACTION
REQUESTED:
Adopt or reject the following resolution: A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT CITY PROJECT P20353; JASPER TRUNK
SANITARY SEWER PHASE 1
ISSUE STATEMENT:
The work on this project has been completed by Delta Construction Company, and
final inspection, paperwork, and approval has been completed by City Staff. The Project is now ready for City Council to formally accept the work.

DISCUSSION/ FINANCIAL
IMPACT:
The project included the following:
• Construction of a 27-inch sanitary trunk sewer from South 42nd Street for
approximately 5,300 feet south-east in Jasper Road
• Approximately 1,000 feet of 8-inch sanitary sewer in South 47th Street south to Jasper Road for future service of the Jasper Natron area.
• Decommissioning of Lucerne Meadows sanitary sewer lift station.
• Boring crossings under the Union Pacific Railroad.
• Full road reconstruction from the S. 42nd Street Round About to S. 47th
Street.
Funding for this project was provided by a sewer bond. The Council
authorized $4,494,061 for the overall budget for the project. The project was
completed under budget at $4,167,285. The construction contract was approved at $2,798,883.39 and came in under budget at $2,686,507.68 The Council authorized
$1,695,178 for contractual services, easements, and City project management costs
and it was completed under budget at $1,480,777.
All work done under this contract has been completed and inspected by the City
Engineer and found to be satisfactory.

Acceptance
WHEREAS, work on the improvement described below has been fully completed and
has been duly inspected by the City Engineer of the City of Springfield:
P20353, Jasper Trunk Sanitary Sewer Phase 1
WHEREAS, said work was found to be in conformance with the terms of the contract
now on file in the City Recorder’s office; and,
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Engineer that this improvement project be accepted and permanently included in the improvement maintenance program of the City of
Springfield.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1) The Common Council of the City of Springfield does hereby accept for future
maintenance the above-described project and accepts said improvement from the
contractor involved.
2) This resolution shall take effect upon adoption by the Council and approval by the Mayor.
Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Springfield, Oregon, this 25th day of
November, 2013.
