Improper storage and removal of dead organic matter and debris. Used materials. Stored, damaged and/or inoperable vehicles. Section 3.2-210 of the Springfield Development Code. The City of Springfield received a complaint about the use of a recreational vehicle(s). r.' 'yt& ‘• l 1 o r P •at I,r' I" n"aAwtt 9l w 5 • - photos are examples, not necessarily inclusive of all violations at a site REQUIRED CORRECTION: • Because the improper storage and disposition of waste creates a potentially serious public health hazard, dead organic matter and debris must be stored in covered leak proof containers and be removed a minimum of once every seven (7)days. • All used materials must be stored within a legally permitted building. • • Parking, storing, leaving or permitting the parking or storing of any licensed or unlicensed motor vehicle that is in a rusted, wrecked, partially dismantled,inoperative or abandoned condition,whether attended or not, or any destruction derby vehicles or race cars of any kind, upon any public or private property within the city, unless completely enclosed within a legally permitted building that is wholly or entirely enclosed except for doors for use for ingress and egress or unless it is in connection with a business enterprise, lawfully licensed by the city,and properly operated in the appropriate business zone, pursuant to the zoning laws of the city. Nothing herein shall prohibit the storage of one vehicle not in violation of other provisions of this code, where it is screened from public view within a legally permitted building or behind a six foot solid fence —provided there are no 2nd story windows adjacent to this property. Nothing herein shall prohibit the parking or storing of a licensed, operable, legally parked, recreational vehicle. The opposite of a stored vehicle is a vehicle which is licensed, insured and coming and going on a regular basis. • Because any use of a recreational vehicle is prohibited all use of the recreational vehicle must cease. It is permitted to store your recreational vehicle on your property, as you would a boat, however, it cannot be used as an extra room. Immediately cease use of the recreational vehicle and remove any and all utilities which have been connected to the unit. The only provision for use of an RV outside of an RV park is with an approved Emergency Medical Hardship Application. Contact Springfield Planning staff if you want to pursue the use of an RV as through the Emergency Medical Hardship application process.
