Services ITEM TITLE: ANNUAL LANE COUNTY RIS AIRS CONTRACT
ACTION REQUESTED: Authorize City Manager to sign a contract with Lane County for Data Center, E-Mail, Network, and AIRS Public Safety System operations and support.
ISSUE STATEMENT: This annual, regional contract provides regionally shared network services through the Regional Data Center located within the Lane Public Services Building for
$128,540. This contract also provides AIRS Public Safety System operations and
maintenance support for $145,976. Total contract for FY14 is $270,752; down from $420,039 in FY13 and $507,508 in FY12. This IGA will go down significantly
again next year (FY15) as Springfield transitions fully to new vendor-supplied
Public Safety automation systems.

DISCUSSION/ FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Regional partners Springfield, Eugene, Lane County, EWEB and LCOG share a regional data center and centralized data services for Internet access, regional fiber communications, server hosting, Firewall, Virtual Private Network, Exchange
Server, Security, and Backup services. Regional partners Springfield, Eugene and Lane County also share the AIRS Public Safety system for Police, Computer Aided
Dispatch, and Jail Management services. Sharing core data center services
regionally enables a higher service level for less cost than any of the partners could provide on their own. AIRS services continue to be reduced as the regional partners
transition to modern replacements for this legacy system.
