Driveway to the station is between the car lot and Myrmo and Sons. This station was designed and built in 1995 to serve the greater Glenwood area, eventually south to the urban growth boundary and east to the hills between Franklin Boulevard and 30th Avenue. It was also anticipated that eventually the sewage settling ponds at Lane Community College could be decommissioned and discharge from LCC directed to this station. The dry well portion of the station is designed with three levels. The ground level portion contains the controls. MCC, and a crane system Second level houses the motors and seal water system. Third level is the pump gallery. A programmable logic controller and variable frequency drives accomplishes pump speed control. The station has a 36-inch influent line and a 12-inch and 20-inch force main, which discharge underneath the Willamette River from the station into the Springfield East Bank Interceptor at Aspen Street. The 20- inch force main is currently blind flanged off. The station features a trench wet well and ventilation system designed to allow occupancy without the usual confined space entry requirements. Odorous air is scrubbed via an activated carbon system contained in a special room adjacent to the wet well. The station is equipped with a manual gravity bypass which discharges directly into the Willamette River next to the station. The station can also be operated using a portable generator.
