Re: Engineered fill inspection, 1111 S. 40th St., Springfield, OR
Date of inspection: August 16, 2013
Time: 10:00 am
Weather: Clear, 72°
Dear Mike:
I visited the site referenced above on the date shown above. All organic material was removed
from the site. The site was cut six inches below native grade at the north side and 10 to 12 inches
below native grade at the south side prior to beginning placement of fill material.
3/4" minus crushed aggregate was reportedly placed in four to six inch lifts and compacted at
each lift with a vibratory roller. Approximately 4" of fill was placed at the north side of the site
with 8 to 10 inches at the south side. The aggregate fill material extends three feet beyond the
foundation.
The fill was tested using the Sand Cone Method. Based on the test, conducted at the north side
of the fill material, the fill has been compacted to at least 95% of standard proctor density.
The scope of service for this work was limited by the Client to assessment of compaction of the
rock fill placed at the site. No other investigations or surveys including, but not limited to, those
of a geo-technical nature, were authorized by the client and none have been performed. No slope
stability evaluation was requested and none was performed. No evaluation of native soil bearing
strength was requested and none was performed.
This report offers a standard test result and no warranties, either expressed or implied are offered
by Geomax, Inc. Geomax was retained to perform a specific task and is not the engineer of
record.
Sincerely, I hereby certify that this work was
