Eugene, Oregon 97401 - f"(, '" RE: Electrical Safety Inspection at the Don Baity Residence, 4121 Camellia Street, Springfield, Oregon Dear Mr. Burrell: At the request of Mr. Baity, an electrtcal safety inspection was conducted at the above address. At that time substandard and hazardous conditions were found to exist in violation of the Uniform Housing Code as adopted by the City of Spring- " field, Oregon. " ELECTRICAL SAFETY The electrical system has been improperly ciltered and maintained and constitutes hazardous wiring as described in Section 1001 eel of the Uniform Housing Code as adopted by the City of Springfield. Although the existing electrical system may have met the standards of the code that was in effect at the time of its instal- lation, alterations, and/or improper maintenance require corrections to be made in accordance with both the Uniform Housing Code as adopted by the City of Spring- field and the current Or€~gon State Electrical Specialty Code (E.S.C.). Oregon Electrical Safety Law Section 22-110 (b) states that electrical work performed on property that is for rent, sale or lease, shall be done by an electrical contractor. The following items must be repaired or replaced within 30 days of the date of this letter in conformance with applicable Codes as adopted by the City of Springfield, Orego n . 1. Remove extension cord wiring and iristall adequate outlets where needed. National Electrical Code eN.E.C.) 400-8 & 210-24, U.H.C. 701 (b) 3. All splices to be installed properly in junction boxes. NOTE: The above are alterations and additions that were not installed in ac- cordance with applicable codes. RECOMr1ENDATION: Existing wiring should be abandoned and replaced in compliance with applicable Codes.
