Inspected fit-up and monitored amps, volts and travel speed by one (1) certified welder: Welding was completed on the pipe guard 7A. Completed welds were checked for size, length, profile and location. Welding is pending FOR approval (ref: FEI report E-34295, dated 06-28-13). Dave (Double A) was asked to notify our office when additional services are needed. Welding was performed in accordance to Double A Metal's weld procedure specification DAM-FCAW-A53-PIPE. Inspected fit-up and root passes. Monitored amps, volts and travel speed by one (1)certified welder using the SMAW process E6010 electrode and the FCAW process E71T-1 electrode. Welding was still in progress at the end of today's shift. Note: welder is only qualified for welding on pipe equal to or greater than 24" in diameter with backing, backgouging or both. Work was performed on 6" diameter pipe with no backing. FOR approval is needed for welding performed to date.
