RESOLUTION NO. 2oi 3 -roe
A RESOLUTION REGARDING BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE
CIS WORKERS COMPENSATION SELF - INSURED GROUP
WHEREAS, pursuant to ORS 656.430(7)(d)(B), this Resolution must be passed
by each Member public entity's governing body as a prerequisite to becoming a
Member of the CIS Workers' Compensation Self- Insured Group (herein Self -
Insured Group); and
WHEREAS, the City of Springfield seeks to become a member of the self -
insured group CIS Workers Compensation.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Springfield, a municipal corporation of the State of Oregon as follows:
1. The City of Springfield (herein Member) agrees to be liable for the
payment of any compensation due to the Oregon Workers' Compensation
Division under ORS Chapter 656 incurred by the Member. Further, Member'
understands and agrees that should it terminate from the Self- Insured Group,
Member will continue to be liable for the payment of any compensation due its
subject workers and other amounts due the Workers' Compensation Division
when such compensation and other amounts arise out of a period when Member
was a member of the Self- Insured Group. The signature dates below
notwithstanding, the effective date of coverage shall be July 1, 2013; and
2. This Resolution has the same force and effect as if signed on or before
the effective date of coverage.
3. This Resolution shall take effect upon its adoption by the Council and
approval by the Mayor.
ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Springfield this 22nd day of
July 2013 with a vote of 6 for and o against.
