8.250 Downtown Sign District.
The Downtown Sign District is
shown on Map No.1. Each business
in this district shall be limited to two
(2) signs.
(1) Wall Signs. Each business shall .
be limited to a maximum of one (1)
wall sign per building wall fronting
a public street.
(a) First Story Businesses. First
story businesses facing a public
street shall be permitted sign age of
three (3) square feet per lineal foot
of building wall.
(b) Second Story Businesses And
Above. Second story businesses
facing a public street shall be
permitted sign age of 1 'lZ square feet
per lineal foot of building wall.
(2) Free Standing, Projecting or
Roof Signs. Each building shall be
permitted one (1) free standing sign,
projecting sign or roof sign which
shall be limited to a maximum area
of 80 square feet for one face and
160 square feet for two or more
faces. The maximum height for free
standing signs shall be 20 feet above
grade.
(3) Encroachment. The minimum
height for all signs encroaching in
the public right of way shall be eight
feet above grade. The maximum
encroachment into the public right
of way shall be six (6) feet, provided
that no sign shall encroach within
two (2) feet of any curb or driveway
line.
(4) Logos are allowed in addition to
the permitted wall signs listed above
provided the logo is the logo of the
business residing on the premises
and provided the total square
footage of the permitted wall signs
and the logos do not exceed a
combined area of three (3) square
feet per lineal foot of building wall
for first story businesses and 1 1/2
square feet per lineal foot of
building wall for second story

based on the square footage of the
proposed logo.
(5) Illumination From Signs on Non
Residential Property. External
illumination shall be shielded so that
the light source elements are not
directly visible from property in a
residential zone which is adjacent to
or across a street from the property
in the non-residential zone.
To Request an inspection call the 24 hour recording at 726-3769. All inspections requested before 7:00
a.m. will be made the same working day, inspections requested after 7:00 a.m. will be made the following
work day.

Sign Final: After all required inspections are conducted and approved and the sign installation is completed.

information hereon is true and correct, and I further certify that any and all work performed shall be done in accordance with
the Ordinances of the City of Springfield and the Laws of the State of Oregon pertaining to the work described herein, and
that NO OCCUPANCY will be made of any structure without permission of the Community Services Division, Building Safety.
I further certify that only contractors and employees who are in compliance with ORS 701.005 will be used on this project. I
further agree to ensure that all required inspections are requested at the proper time, that each address is readable from the
street, that the permit card is located at the front ofthe property, and the approved set of plans will remain on the site at all
times during construction.
