Inspection of: Shear Wall Nailing Weather: Partly Cloudy Continuous Inspection: ❑
Contractor: Chambers Construction Co. BP No.: 811-SPR2012-02519 Periodic Inspection:
Performed nailing inspection on the exterior face of the perimeter W4 & W6 1st floor
shear walls on lines A, D, F, G, 1 & 6. The 15/32" APA rated plywood was secured to
the framing members with 0.148 x 2 3/8" nails. The Simpson CS16 straps were
secured with #10 nails and extend past openings a minimum of 24" on each side.
Verified nail spacing at panel edges and at intermediate studs conforms to
requirements specified in shear wall schedule. Note: FOR verbally approved use of 2
3/8" long nails in-lieu of 2 1/2" nails specified in schedule.
Jack Makarchek (CCC) was advised and was asked to notify our office when additional
services are needed.
To the best of our knowledge, the work inspected was in accordance with plans dated
12-19-12 and applicable workmanship provisions of the I.B.C., except if noted above.
