Recently an application was made to our office for a lease space tenant improvement identified as 1981 Mohawk Blvd., Springfield, Oregon. When the land was originally, approved for development, we talked regarding the new proposed addresses for the improvements. You had requested 1881 Mohawk, but I explained the property was in the 1900 block of Mohawk Blvd so we would need to address in the 1900 block. At that time, I provided you with addresses for two potential lease spaces, each with their own exterior address. The most northerly lease space was to be identified as 1989 Mohawk and the most southern lease space was to be identified as 1981 MohilWk, which allowed for additional address creation betWeen the two if you decided to add additional spaces. . When the plans were received by our office for the completion of a new lease space for T-Mobi1e, we could see that the original permit for the shell of the building was applied for and issued to 1981 Mohawk Blvd., but a subsequent application for the credit union also used the 1981 Mohawk Blvd address which was to be used for the most southerly portion of the building. Because.the credit union has been final ed, the costs and inconvienience of placing the correct address on that lease space could be prohibitive for you and your tenant..My solution would be to address the lease space which will be occupied by T ~Mobile to 1977 Mohawk which would allow for one additional lease space between the two with an address of 1979. If additional lease spaces were created other than the one identified in the middle of the structure, the credit union lease space would need to be changed to the previously assigned address (1989 Mohawk Blvd). In case of an emergency, it is very important that our records reflect the actual, appropriately sequenced, addresses used on the property. All address changes are to be reviewed and approved by the City prior to implementation of the new addresses. Unfortunately in your case, it appears you have used one address for the entire complex which we had previously assigned separate addresses. Each location needs to'be easily identifiable and accessible in an emergency situation that is why the need is so important to have each lease space with different identifiable street addresses. .. .. At this point, we will process your lease space application for T-Mobile with the address of 1977 Mohawk Blvd. We feel this is the best solution for all. If! may answer any questions, or, if you have a different solution to the addressing, please feel free to phone me at 726-3790. :~\~~0 Community Services Building Safety cc: Al Gerard, Fire Marshal
