Personnel data, promotions, career highlights, and significant accomplishments of the employee. • Thelma was hired in March of 2003 with funding from a partnership grant with Womenspace, to do victim advocacy outreach to the Latina community. • Thelma has done extensive work with Womenspace and the Child Advocacy Center assisting both English and Spanish speaking victims of crime in our community. 2. How the Department has changed over the employee’s career. • When Thelma was hired, the Department had very few bi-lingual, and no bi- cultural, employees. • Thelma’s work has dramatically improved relationships with the growing Latino community in Springfield. 3. Significant projects or events the employee has been involved in. • Thelma has been involved with Fiesta Latina and the Lock Out Crime project • She actively seeks to involve the Spanish-speaking community in every Department event. 4. Positive comments shared by Thelma’s co-workers. • Several of our detectives consistently compliment Thelma on her ability to relate to victims of domestic violence, and to gain their cooperation in important criminal investigations.
